This was our first visit to a small private liberal arts school. I wanted to start close to home to get the small vibe and get my sons thoughts. They also offer very good merit scholarship money so it is within what I could spend.
I signed up online, there were 15 to 20 other families broken out into two groups, a lot were from pretty far away. Both students were so friendly, well spoken, and made a good first impression. The school was larger than I remember, we went into almost all buildings and they were stunning. They talked a lot about the education and how their program worked, we saw the cafeteria, dorm room, library, etc. The campus was a bit quiet at the start of the tour but got more lively. The one thing I did not walk away from was the fun factor there since there is not much in New London. Since the work load seemed rigorous I think it's important to ask.
Overall my son was excited, I was impressed and it was a good start to things. The only negative he mentioned was that it is kinda close to home. Keeping on list.
